Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock es el cuarto episodio de la serie de videojuegos Guitar Hero(siendo el tercero el juego Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s. El juego ha sido publicado por Activision y RedOctane, con Neversoft como desarrollador para las versiones en las consolas PlayStation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 y Wii y para los ordenadores ha sido desarrollado por Aspyr Media. Debido a la adquisición de RedOctane por Activision, Harmonix ya no está implicado en los títulos de la serie Guitar Hero (en cambio, la compañía está desarrollando actualmente Rock Band que será su competidor). El juego además incluye a Slash (Guns n' Roses/Slash's Snakepit/Velvet Revolver), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave), y Bret Michaels (Poison) como personajes seleccionables.
